Choosing a Category/Attributes
This is a good place to start if you're not exactly sure which search keywords to use. Searching within a category of interest allows you to quickly narrow in on only the most relevant pages to you.

To begin, choose a category to search, i.e., Real Estate, Announcements, etc. Click on the category “Type” to begin your search. You may then need to select a sub-category to continue. Note that when you select a category “Type”, the page will refresh to display the necessary attributes to go with that category.

Using the attributes, you can drill down into the data to find the very specific information you want. You also can broaden your search by leaving the attributes as the default; however, keep in mind that if your search returns a large number of data, you will experience a delay in seeing your results as the Web server processes your query.

Hints:
Specify your most important search criteria.
To broaden your search parameters, we suggest that you select multiple items:
If you want the latest ads, check “Today's Ads” entering your search.

Choosing Keywords
For best results, it's important to choose your keywords wisely. Keep these tips in mind:

  1. Try the obvious first. If you're looking for information on Honda, enter "Honda" rather than "cars".
  2. Use words likely to appear on a site with the information you want. "hatchback CX Honda" gets better results than "really nice and small car within my budget".
  3. Make keywords as specific as possible. "Antique lead soldiers" gets more relevant results than "old metal toys".
  4. Note: when you enter a keyword in the search field of a specific category (eg. Automotive), the search engine will find anything matching that word in the text of the ad, within that category, and return you the results. Likewise, if you go deeper into that category, perhaps into it's class (eg. cars), the search engine will ONLY search within "Cars" and return you the results.

Options
We've added optional features for specific categories to refine your search further. Simply check the box which represents the item you want to include in the ad. This will refine your search results and narrow down on the ads to display.

Capitalization
Our searches are NOT case sensitive. All letters, regardless of how you type them, will be understood as lower case. For example, searches for "vince carter", "Vince Carter", and "vInCe cArTeR" will all return the same results.

Choosing to Browse
To browse all the ads within the category, simply click on the “Browse” button. The list is generated from our database and are NOT in any particular order.

Search Results
Search results are returned in random order UNLESS you specify your sorting choices in the “Sort Order By” drop down menu. When you select a choice in the “Sort Order By” drop down menu, it will return the numeric order first (i.e. items with numbers “1” will appear before any other numbers), then in alphabetical order (i.e. items listed with the letter “a” are listed before any other letter).
